LG Hard Glass LCD Monitors
LG have released a new series of toughened LCD monitors. LCD
monitors that provide resistant to hard strikes have been on
the market for many years now. So what makes the new LG 42pp
series monitors so special?
Well for a start, the main difference is that these monitors
are a fraction of the price of normal hard glass monitors. There
are 2 versions currently available with the L1742pp and the
L1942pp, 17” and 19” respectively.
The monitors look the same as a standard LCD monitor with the
exception that these utilise a 7H rated hardness panel. This
means nothing to the average person; all you really need to
know is that standard monitors have a hardness rating of 2H
or less.
These monitors have been designed with high usage areas in
mind such as schools, libraries, internet cafes and also airports.
These are the type of surroundings where the monitors are exposed
to greater dangers than in a normal office environment.
During testing LG dropped a steel ball weighing 1.2lbs on the
glass surface and it remained intact and unscathed.
With prices for these monitors starting at £105 which
makes them a very attractive proposition for anyone looking
to replace their existing monitors or for those people looking
to install new monitors into these high usage areas.
